Natural gas generator sets


The natural gas generating units are usually covered by the following power segments:

-Small and medium power: 50kW-500kW (suitable for small enterprises, distributed energy pilot, biogas projects, etc.)

 Product Details

The operation of a natural gas generator is based on the four-stroke cycle of a gas engine: intake, compression, power, and exhaust. The core of this process is to convert the chemical energy from natural gas combustion into electrical energy through a series of transformations. This process primarily consists of two key components: the gas engine, which converts chemical energy into mechanical energy, and the generator, which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. The following are the detailed working steps and principles.

 

Natural gas is transported through pipelines to the intake system of the generator set, where it mixes with filtered air in precise proportions to achieve the optimal air-fuel ratio. The mixture is then drawn into the engine cylinder, where the piston moves upward, compressing the gas inside and significantly increasing its temperature and pressure. Ignition and combustion occur when the piston approaches the top dead center of the compression stroke. The spark plug generates a high-voltage spark that ignites the compressed gas-air mixture. The resulting intense combustion produces high-temperature, high-pressure gases. This expansion process pushes the piston downward, converting thermal energy into mechanical energy. Finally, the piston moves upward again, expelling the exhaust gases produced by combustion through the exhaust port.
